      Sadly it is very real. The melting icebergs and polar caps, the increasing temperatures leading to more vicious forest fires (you read about Australia, right?), hotter summers ! 🙁

      Yes. Best evidence is that
      1. it is real. Plantet average temperature is rising
      2. humans can do something to stop that rise

      The evidence is unequivocal: receding glaciers and polar ice, forest fires in Australia, more extreme winters and summers in the UK.

      The greatest challenge and opportunity for humanity is to do something about it: mitigate the impacts in the short term and reverse them in the long term. There are many ways mathematical modelling can help transform the world and tackle climate: from the design of better batteries (to wean us off the petrol engine) to understanding the how the climate works.
