We can’t stop climate change completely – whatever we do now, the world will warm but at least 1.5 degrees C. While this isn’t the last year, it is probably the last decade to keep warming down to less then 2.5 deg C and even that requires a massive global effort.

At the moment we are on track to warm about 4 deg C which would be quite disastrous. it is possible that new technologies will be developed to help reverse climate change but these don’t exist now.

I don’t know whether we will tackle climate change properly this year, but the later we leave it the worst the effects will be.

I agree with the other Mathematicians here, I thin we are too late to stop climate change but we can slow it down, but requires everyone to play their part from large corporations to individuals.

I recently saw a talk that stated that if we wanted to stop climate change by 2020 we have to have negative carbon emissions (find ways to start removing extra carbon from the atmosphere).
