      The aim of using AI in the legal sector is to support consistency of decision making and bring about efficiencies in processing legal work.

      We want to AI programmes to advise lawyers and judges as to which arguments in a case are strong or weak and why, through comparison with the winning arguments from past cases. AI software can be used to assist with this task.

      Also, we are working with lawyers to deploy AI tools to speed up the processing of the easier, repetitive parts of their work, to give them more time to concentrate on the cognitively challenging aspects of their work.
