  It is a 3d fractal Christmas tree
  with instructions / templates here: https://www.think-maths.co.uk/downloads/building-3d-fractals
  The “tree” bit is based on a Sierpinski Tetrahedron, while the base of the tree was a Menger Sponge.
  
  The version we created at UWE was more than a metre wide at the base!
