I don’t consider myself disabled but I do have a long-term condition – migraines. Unfortunately if I get a migraine I usually have to stop everything I’m doing and go home to bed, and it can take me a few days to recover. I can’t read properly or look at screens during that time, so there’s not much I can do. I’m on medication to try to help prevent them, so I only have them every 3-4 weeks at the moment, but earlier in the year I was getting them every couple of days – it makes it very hard to function as a human.

When I was younger I did have to have several operations on my eyes as one was weaker than the other which led to me seeing double. This affected my depth perception and still does

I am prone to panic and anxiety attacks. I consult my psychiatrist periodically about this when these become frequent and sort of ‘unbearable’. Also I have a nice support system in my colleagues and friends who I can open up to about this when I need to :).
