When I was 16 I volunteered at a local charity shop, but my first paid job was when I was 17 where I worked at a caravan site over the summer

when I finished my undergraduate studies (BsC and MsC)
I’ve got a position to be a researcher at the university, which is actually what I am still doing (I’ve changed several places, though)

My first job was as a tutor in an extra tuition center when I was 17. I helped younger children with their maths/english/science, and helped some of them practice for an exam called the 11+ (I grew up in Kent, which has some grammar schools – these are state secondary schools but you needed to pass a test to enter. It’s always useful to practice for exams so you know what to expect and what sorts of questions you will get asked).
