I do a lot of different things. Firstly I do outreach activities like this or giving talks to schools. I like doing art and crochet – I’ve just finished two blankets for my partner’s nieces. I also do LARP (live action role-play), where I often play scientist or economist roles!

I do jiujitsu, teach myself to play my ukulele, or read a book, or cook. And when I am feeling lazy I binge watch the Doctor Who episodes from David Tennant, or rewatch some episodes of Naruto (especially when feeling sad and defeated), or South Park (when in need to humour). Sometimes when I am feeling very emotional I paint (mostly acrylic; I tried watercolour, but I prefer acrylic).

If i’m in London (where I live), it’s going to theatre or cinema, having dinner or a drink with friends, seeing my family. If it’s a weekend and I’m in not in London (most weekends), it’s hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, camping and stuff like that!

I have always loved swimming and as soon as I get into the water I completely switch off. Indoor pools are great but best of all is swimming outdoors, in lidos or our local outdoor activity centre lake. I also read a lot and try to do that every morning and evening. Cooking is something I enjoy and if I say so myself I make rather good banana muffins.

A lot of things: spending time with my family, cooking (and making cakes), meeting with friends, sport (mainly bike, gym, inline skating, ice skating, recently I’ve started skateboarding), music (try to practice piano as often as possible, singing in a choir when I have enough time, which I don’t currently), drawing/painting, travelling to see new places or friends/relatives (or both), watching movies or series, at the end of each day reading a book before I fall asleep.

I don’t really have much free time at the moment! I help out with a youth organisation called the Girls Brigade where we do crafts and games with school aged girls. I also help run the student and young adult activities at my church.

When I do have free time I like to play piano, read or anything outdoors if it’s dry.

I jump between a few different things. I like playing guitar and reading books. I write code a lot, because I love working with computers. Sometimes I teach at some clubs for teenagers. I’m also planning to do one of those camper van conversions, so lately I’ve been haunting used van lots.

I’m a member of a book club so always have a new book on the go. I also enjoy cooking and baking. On weekends I spend a lot of time on the side of football pitches watching my son play for his local team. And I’m a big LFC fan so watch their matches, going to Anfield whenever I can get tickets.
